I am pleased to be nominated for the 49th Art Prize 2026 of the Kulturstiftung der Sparkasse Karlsruhe, presented under this year’s exhibition theme Radikale Verunsicherung (Radical Uncertainty).

In response to Radikale Verunsicherung, my work approaches instability as a structural condition. Architecture operates as a form of proxy anatomy: planes that appear to support and contain begin to shift, shear and lose coherence. Built-up layers of oil are dragged, compressed and disrupted until the surface becomes permeable and what initially appears stable is held only temporarily.
